Morriplum Farm Sanctuary Wish List
Welcome to our SoKind registry! As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, we are grateful for your donations to help care for the rescued animals we provide a lifelong home for. Monetary donations are not the only way to contribute. Please see our wish list below to purchase or gift items we can use and also for ways to volunteer. Thank you!
This website compiles our list of gift requests, but does not sell the gifts. If you would like to 'claim' a gift, be sure to click on the 'Give this gift' button so the gift will be claimed in your name, and so that we won't receive any duplicates. Then, you can follow our instructions on how or where to give the gift. Thank you!
Other things easy to order new are listed here at the link below.
We always need food and water bowls for our bird friends. Large dog bowls work well. Sturdy large glass/metal bowls or pots that aren't easily knocked over and aren't more than about 4 inches deep work well.
Please- NO finishes/coatings/materials that can be scratched or will corrode and no ceramic or other materials that are easily broken.
Thrift stores and yard sales can be great places to pick these up.
We nearly always need medium to large sized plastic carriers and crates for rescue, transport, and medical isolation of critters. Any we cannot use go to other sanctuaries and rescues.
We use the brown treated wood for fencing, erosion control, as well as building new structures. (4x4 & 2x4 are our most utilized dimensions, lengths of 6' or longer)
A 100' roll of field fencing or no-climb fence, extra from a roll is fine too. Used fencing can be fine if it is in good shape (unrusted and not too twisted/bent).
A new or used DR Field & Brush Mower in good working condition will help keep the spaces between our fruit and nut trees trimmed down. This helps our animal friends by creating a source of long-term sustainable revenue (in the form of a fruit and nut CSA) to take care of their vet bills, food and other needs. It can also be used to keep down blackberries and other invasive species in the pasture.
A new or used trailer that we can move critters to the vet, use on rescues, or out of harm's way in case of a fire. A small livestock or horse trailer or a converted cargo trailer (with windows added) could work or something like this link.
A new or used small tractor in good working condition, with a front loader would be so helpful - a mowing attachment would be great, as would a small excavator on the back, but the basic tractor is fine too. This would help with mud management, pasture maintenance and other sanctuary duties.
A truck in good working condition, rated to pull a trailer would be lovely.
Bird Seed/Feed, supplies to keep up coops, fences and more come from our local hardware store. Any credit here helps our friends stay safe, sheltered and fed. Thank you!
From organic feed to medications to other supplies, this is our local go-to store and any credit there goes directly toward the care of our residents. Thank you!

a great local lumber yard with pricing lower than the local box stores
We mix this with our layer pellets to make a balanced feed for older birds

We get these from the Grange Co-op, but any organic layer pellets would be lovely.
We would love some perennial flowers to fill out our extensive flower beds. This makes the sanctuary more attractive to visitors. We would also appreciate trees, especially, but not limited to, bare root fruit & nut trees.
If you are a contractor, carpenter, or have other significant construction or building experience, especially with farms and outbuildings and barns, we would LOVE your help and advice.
It might just be a simple consult on a design or problem, or hours of your time or overseeing a group project. Let us know what you are good at and we'll talk.
We mostly need to construct coops, runs, and other structures for the welfare of our residents as well as fencing to protect them.
Ideally, someone who is willing to be trained or who is already trained in animal care.
This is usually a short-term commitment of only a few days, while we are on a rescue or a well-deserved vacation.
We could sure use someone with refined or burgeoning photography skills to take some great photos of our critters, our old barn, etc. Photos would then be put into a shared google drive and used for photo books and social media.
We could certainly use a volunteer with vet experience to help out on a monthly basis.
We could also use free or reduced vet care on a case-by-case basis.
Someone with experience in gardening. We have flowers to plant, veges to harvest, weeds to pull, and gardens to design. This position comes with a share of the harvest.
Light duties like scratching ears, painting fences, etc.
