Welcome to the Bloorcourt Sponsors Refugee Family Registry! We are a group of neighbours in the Bloor-Dufferin area who came together as strangers to privately sponsor a Syrian refugee family.
This registry is aimed at collecting household items to equip the refugee family in their new home in Toronto. Have a look at our list and consider whether you have any gently used or new items that you could pass along to this family. In most cases, hand-me-downs in good condition are just what we are looking for. There are also items on the registry with a dollar figure that will help the family get around and build a life here in Toronto.
We have recently learned that we are matched with a Syrian refugee family of three. We are so grateful to all our donors for helping us collect the items needed to set up this family's first home in Toronto. Please check back often - as we learn more about the family's specific needs, we will post more gently used and new items that will be much needed by the family.
HOW TO GIVE: Simply select an item and follow the directions! We will follow up with you by email to make the arrangements to pick up your in-kind gift or to transfer your monetary gift towards an item.
Please note that we have also reached our fundraising goal of $50,000 to support the sponsorship of a refugee family. Thank you to our incredibly generous donors! We did this together!

The Government of Canada requires that private sponsors must provide for the refugee family’s home, furnishings, clothing, and income for a full year. For a family of four, the minimum funds we need to raise is $27,000. We are conscious that this is a difficult living allowance in the city of Toronto. This is why Bloorcourt Sponsors have set an audacious goal of raising $50,000 to sponsor and support a Syrian refugee family.
